 Whats it all about…

Read business books, marketing books like The E-Myth Revisited, or Napoleon Hills “Think & Grow Rich”

Spend as little as 10 mins a night. Turn of the TV, Turn the Soaps off etc. Implantation…  

MadAboutPies.co.uk has been trading only 12 months LTD. In this time we have managed to get Martin Blunos “first UK chef & TV celb to hold 2 Michelin stars at the same time” Bombardier Ale from the Charles Wells Brewery.

Our portfolio of customer accounts include Crystal Palace FC, a number of semi Professional Rugby Statiums, 4 leading supermarket’s in the South West, Pubs & Hotels, Garden centres, a major Camp Holiday Park company with 8 sites and a number of local deli shops.  We are currently in talks with 2 of the UK’s major companies. “Watch this Space”

Diversity  “Self-praise is no praise” but not bad in 12 months of hard graft. Banging on doors, taking NO for an answer.

How would I sum all the above up? How can I tell you what to do? How can I make you listen?

I can’t

I still learn on a daily basis, still make mistakes daily and will go on to make more.

The only advice I can offer is

Listen to your Peers,

Surround yourself with people of like mind

To get the results you have to put the hard work in

Work Smarter NOT Harder

Don’t be afraid to Fail or change what you are doing. “There is NO rule Book”

Don’t take or think a Knock back as Failure but rather an Opportunity

Create an A, B, & C list

A = Always gets done

B = B list goes onto you’re a list

C = C list never get done

Finally there are the 1, 4, 15, 60, 80 % Rule in life

1% are mighty Rich, 4% are well off, 15% are heading towards their goals, 60% are getting by & 80% are still struggling & moaning about everything…

Loyalty Card, which offers your customers Special Discounts & keeps you in contact throughout the year

A CRM system to store your Data which lets your contact you customers on a regular basis through the use of SMS and through Email.

Social Media.. Facebook for Family and Friends, Twitter is like being at a party where you know no one and you what to engage with people & LinkedIn is for Ties & Suits and letting other businesses know what you do.

Testimonials & the use of video on your website is a must too.

Appearing on Channel 4’s “four in a bed” TV Series DEC 2011 which was an amazing experience and grow the business even further, which still has an impact on business today

Diversity: The Farmers Boy Inn is famous for its Gourmet Pies which I have extended over the last 12 years and out of this MadAboutPies.co.uk was born from Guests staying in my B&B rooms asking me where they could purchase my gourmet Pies.

First I set up an online business www.madaboutpies.co.uk  throughout the UK than I opened a Deli Shop in The Farmers Boy Inn which I have now changed into a Wine, Pie & Local Cheese Shop. “don’t be afraid to change & break the rules if it doesn’t work the way you expected”

We now offer a wide range of quality world wines that are not sold in the big stores as retail & also to our guests that dine in our restaurant where £6 is added to the retail price of each bottle of wine. This creates a fantastic quality wine for a fantastic price for all. We also us the shop as a Wine menu which creates a special theatre affect for our Guests.

The most important word that offers meaning to all the above stages is Implantation. I never mind sharing my ideas with people because I know that 99% of people won’t put the hard work in to get the results. Remember Implantation…

This press release is called Diversity

Diversity is something I have done throughout my time at The Award winning Farmers Boy Inn. Changing and moving with the world, “thinking outside the box”.

Offering my customer’s something different. If you offer the same products as your competitor how do or can you expect to be successful.

It’s not about ME, The Farmers Boy Inn or even MadAboutPies.co.uk but the products which make peoples life easier, fulfilling people’s dreams & fulfilling their expectations.

When I first purchased the FBI “which won me an award for Marketing” there was no internet, Google or Apple on the market. Mobile phones where just starting to appear and Steve Jobs Ipad was a distance dream.

Today you can start a business in your bedroom with just the help of a computer, a phone & the internet.

Today is not about working harder but working smarter.

In 2000 my customers use to come to me. Your parents and peers would say “its who you know” that gets you to where you want to go.

Today its “Who knows YOU” which gets you to where you want to go today.

You have to go after your customers, tell them why you are the best, better than the competition.

Give them a reason to come to you. It’s not up to them to ring You, ask You if there is anything that they can do for you.

This doesn’t mean offer a cheaper product but that you offer them an experience that they cannot get anywhere.

I much rather have 50 guests paying £20 per head than 100 guests paying £10 per head.

This and other reasons might include

Better Customer Service, for example the simple things we tend to forget like, hello, thank you, good day, good bye, a smile, smartly dressed and most importantly “listening to your customers”.

Staff Training, this is essential for pushing your business forward.  The world changes on a daily basis. What’s good for the customers today are not necessarily good for the customer tomorrow.

Attitude is something that starts the day you enter this world. Vision, Passion & energy all come from this.  I only wish i could bottle and sell these qualities. I would be the richest man to walk this world we live in today.

Ask your staff the Question “if you had the choice of pushing the chefs special of the day or you were going to die, which would you choose?? Simple answer…..

DATA and Marketing that DATA is the most important tool you need for a successful business. The More DATA you gather the bigger your business will grow. Marketing your business is a must and you should be doing it every day. Who is going to know who you are, what you are selling, what your products can do for your customer. How it can make their life easier on a daily basis.

The more Data you have the more businesses, potential & existing customers you can sell too.

MadAboutPies History.. Gloucestershire’s leading Pie Gourmet Company

After launching the Martin Blunos Gourmet Range 440grm we are  now launching The Hungry

Pie Slice Range 230grm and the Catering Gourmet range 240grms.

Already in the Co-op and also enlisted in ASDA & Waitrose early next year. The Blunos Range have won 3 Silvers in the British Pie awards this year Also working with Charles Wells Brewery and Bombardier Ale

The company started due to The Award winning Farmers Boy Inn in Gloucestershire which is Famous for its Gourmet Pies & “as seen on C4′s Four in a Bed” TV Show when customers kept asking where they could buy the Gourmet delights. After setting up an online business Phil Kiernan MD landed the Worcester Warriors RFC contract and MadAboutPies was born. Working with Taste of the West the best is yet to come.
