Mad About Pies – home of multi-award-winning gourmet pies, born out of a passion for great food, family tradition, and a bold idea that took root in the heart of the Forest of Dean.
It all began in the kitchen of a 17th-century inn, The Farmers Boy Inn, where food, laughter, and community have always been at the centre of everything. What started as a country pub with a love for hearty, homemade dishes soon became something much more. The star of the show? Pies. Not just any pies – epic, flaky, buttery, beautifully filled pies, crafted with local ingredients and a flair for flavour.
As demand for our pies grew, so did the dream. And from that, Mad About Pies was born.

What sets us apart isn’t just the quality of our pies – it’s the story behind them. At the heart of it all is Chef Richard, the culinary mastermind behind our award-winning range. With decades of experience and a natural flair for flavour, Richard has developed each pie recipe with obsessive care – testing, refining, and perfecting until every bite delivers on texture, taste, and satisfaction.
With roots firmly planted in tradition but a fearless eye for invention, we’ve turned classic British comfort food into a full-blown obsession.
